TORONTO – Toronto & York Region Labour Council and the Central Ontario Building Trades condemn renewed attempts to undermine collective bargaining in City of Toronto business.
In just a few days, on May 10th, Toronto City Council will consider allowing some commercial shopping areas to open on statutory holidays. Tell City Council to vote “no” to holiday shopping exemptions! Many retail workers can only count on these nine days of rest with their families.
Over 1,000 workers a year are killed on the job across Canada and countless more are injured or made ill at work. At this time of year, we mark important milestones in the fight to protect workers health and safety and to hold accountable those employers who kill or injure workers.
