Fight for a Better Future

To win a Better Future for working people, we have our work cut out for us. Billionaires and wealthy corporations, and their political representatives, are going to do all they can to keep things stacked in their favour.

The good news? There’s strength in numbers, and that’s something we have in spades. If we can build solidarity with one another, we’ll build a movement strong enough to win all our demands. We’ve done it before and we can do it again.

To build that solidarity, we need to have tough questions in our workplaces to let people know there is a real alternative for working people. We can work with elected representatives that champion working people. To get involved in the Fight for a Better there’s a few things you can do:

• Attend the Activist Assembly – On Saturday, April 5th, we’ll be training activists and leaders in Toronto & York Region unions on how to take this campaign directly to members. Attendees will learn the dynamics of the political crisis facing working people and how to tough political discussions on a real alternative for workers. Want to attend? • Take Action In Your Workplace – Start by looking at our Campaign Overview Statement for local leaders on how to get involved today. Talk to your union about getting involved, and let them know you want to take action in your workplace. Print materials and discussion guides, and form a Better Future Committee. Remember: the real work of the campaign is talking directly to union members – plan lunchroom meetings, leaflets at the plant gates, and reports at membership meetings!

   

• Follow the Campaign – Sign up for updates and report on the campaign regularly to your union. Our fight needs to go to the elections in 2025 and beyond.
