What We Stand For

Four Pillars of Justice

Since 1871, the Labour Council has championed principles which improve the lives of its members and their communities. Today, we work for justice in our workplaces, in our politics, in our communities, and in our world.

Economic

Economic inequality and systemic racism are painful realities in our country as well as south of the border.

Social

The United States is showing us what happens when we turn to blame, ignore our problems, and act like everyone is in it for themselves. We must reject that, take what we learned from the pandemic, and prepare for Canada’s future.

Racial

Fairness matters. Building inclusive unions that embrace those common values is one of the most important tasks we have.

Climate

Let’s empower workers to build a long-lasting, sustainable economy.
